Meet Your Innkeepers
We are Wes and Linda Matchett, your innkeepers. We call ourselves Corporate Refugees. About fifteen years ago we were living in the Northern Virginia area outside of Washington, DC working high paced, stressful jobs - Wes in Software Engineering and Linda in Human Resources. One day we realized we had no time together and were becoming strangers. That was not how we wanted to live out our life. We needed to find new careers that we could share.
Several years later we were sitting in a beautiful B&B in Bar Harbor, Maine. We looked at each other and exclaimed, "We can do this!"
Thus the journey began. We took seminars and behind the scenes tours to investigate the good, the bad and the ugly of innkeeping. Meanwhile, we wrote our business plan and visited each of the New England states to determine the best location for our new (ad)venture. And we saved our pennies - OK, dollars which took a little while.
Then it happened. We found the perfect place.
Shortly after 9/11 we saw listings for 2 bed and breakfasts in NH and decided to take the plunge. We drove to NH (not being anxious to fly at that point) and visited the properties. We fell in love with Wolfeboro and the Tuc' Me Inn and made an offer. Yikes! It was accepted!
The rest is history. Feeling a bit like the Clampetts, we packed up our goods and made the long trip back to NH. Five weeks and many hours of renovation and preparation later our first guest arrived.
We've never looked back.
Our goal is to provide you with a memorable getaway vacation. We want you to feel at home and yet be pampered like no where else. The best part of owning the B&B is getting to know people from all over the world.
